Qualifying marks

NEET 2026 Cut-off Category-Wise

The NEET qualifying cut-off is the minimum score you need to be eligible for counselling. It is a percentile-based band, so the marks move every year with paper difficulty and the number of candidates. Compare the last three sessions below.

Category Qualifying Percentile NEET 2026 NEET 2025 NEET 2024
General / EWS 50th percentile 715–213 686–144 720–162
OBC 40th percentile 212–177 143–113 161–127
SC 40th percentile 212–177 143–113 161–127
ST 40th percentile 212–177 143–113 161–127
General / EWS – PwBD 45th percentile 212–194 143–127 161–144
OBC – PwBD 40th percentile 193–177 126–113 143–127
SC – PwBD 40th percentile 193–177 126–113 143–127
ST – PwBD 40th percentile 191–177 126–113 142–127

Qualifying cut-off only. The admission (closing) cut-off for a specific college is always higher and is decided round by round during counselling.

What NEET actually is

NEET UG is the single national entrance test conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA) for admission to MBBS, BDS and AYUSH courses in every government, private and deemed medical college in India. Around 20–23 lakh candidates appear each year for roughly 1.37 lakh MBBS seats.

Qualifying vs admission cut-off

Clearing the qualifying percentile only makes you eligible to register for counselling. Whether you get a seat depends on the closing rank of each college in each round — which is why a realistic, rank-matched choice list matters far more than the qualifying score itself.

Our process

How MBBS Counselling Works

Three steps, run by counsellors who have taken students through every round of MCC and state counselling.

1

Rank-based college mapping

We read your NEET 2026 score, category, domicile and budget against previous years' closing ranks, then build a shortlist split into safe, likely and stretch colleges.

2

Choice filling done right

Most seats are lost in choice filling, not in the exam. We help you order preferences round by round, and advise when to hold a seat versus when to upgrade.

3

Documentation & admission

Document checklist, verification, fee structure, hostel and bond terms explained in writing before you pay anything, so there are no surprises at reporting.

Why students work with us

Why Choose Us

We work with your real rank

No inflated promises. If a college is out of range for your rank, we say so and show you what is realistically in range.

Full cost, not just tuition

Tuition, hostel, caution deposit, bond liability and NRI/management differences laid out side by side before you decide.

All quotas covered

All India Quota, state quota, deemed universities, institutional, NRI and management seats — in one shortlist.

💬

One counsellor, start to finish

The same person handles your case through every round, so you never re-explain your situation.

Round-wise deadline tracking

Registration, locking and reporting deadlines are tight. We track them for you so nothing lapses.

🎓

Dental as a real option

If MBBS does not convert at your rank, we map BDS colleges in the same rounds so a year is never lost by default.

FAQ

NEET 2026 Admission Questions

What is the NEET 2026 qualifying cut-off?

For the General and EWS categories the qualifying cut-off is the 50th percentile, which works out to a score band of 715–213 in NEET 2026. OBC, SC and ST candidates qualify at the 40th percentile (212–177), and General/EWS–PwBD candidates at the 45th percentile (212–194).

Does qualifying NEET mean I will get an MBBS seat?

No. Qualifying only makes you eligible to register for counselling. With about 1.37 lakh MBBS seats against 20–23 lakh candidates, a seat depends on your rank, category, domicile state and how well you fill your choices in each round.

How many medical colleges and MBBS seats are there in India?

As per the NMC seat matrix for the 2026–27 session, there are 823 medical colleges offering 1,36,939 MBBS seats — 63,296 in government colleges and 73,643 in private and deemed institutions.

What is the difference between All India Quota and State Quota?

All India Quota covers 15% of government college seats and is allotted centrally by MCC, open to candidates from any state. The remaining 85% is state quota, allotted by your state's counselling authority and usually restricted to candidates with domicile in that state.

How many counselling rounds are there?

MCC conducts four rounds — Round 1, Round 2, Round 3 (mop-up) and an online stray vacancy round. A seat allotted in the stray vacancy round cannot be surrendered, so choices in that round should be filled carefully.

Is your counselling service free?

Yes. The first counselling session — understanding your score, category and preferences, and getting a rank-matched college shortlist — is free. Fill the form above and a counsellor will call you back.
